Climate & Clothing of Delhi
Delhi experiences an extreme type of climate. The climate is hot and humid in summers and cold in winters. Summer (April -June), is scorching hot with temperature ranging between 30°C to 46°C. Monsoon rains (July-September) bring some respite. Winter stretches from November to February, temperatures fall substantially down to 2°C during night. Best time to visit Delhi is from October to March. Cotton clothes are ideal for summers, while woollens are necessary for winters, as the weather remains chilly.

» Red Fort : Situated in the heart of Old Delhi, the red sandstone fort dates back to the peak of Mughal dynasty. Shah Jahan began the construction of this majestic fort in 1638 and it was completed in 1648.

» Raj Ghat : The Raj Ghat marks the spot where Mahatama Gandhi was cremated following his assassination in 1948.
 
» Jantar Mantar : Located close to the Parliament Street, the observatory is one of the five observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh II.

» India Gate : India Gate stands at the eastern end of the Raj Path. The 42-metre-high stone arch of triumph, bears the name of Indian Army soldiers.

» Rashtrapati Bhavan : The official residence of the President of India is situated close to India Gate.

» Parliament House : The Parliament House or Sansad Bhavan is situated at the end of the Parliament street, just north of the Raj Path.
 
Airport
The Indira Gandhi International Airport of Delhi operates regular flights connecting to different parts of the world. The domestic terminal (Palam Airport) is a 5-minute-drive from the international terminal. The airport authority provides free shuttle services between two terminals.

Local Modes of Transport
Delhi's population moves around mostly in buses, taxis and auto rickshaws. The Delhi Transport Corporation plies regular buses connecting almost all parts of the city. Auto-rickshaw, car, taxi and metro train are other local modes of transport. Private buses are also run across the length and breadth of the city.
